Pre-prototype. Pre-revenue. Fully specified.

Origin C is at the digital-twin stage, with the bench rig to follow from March 2027. There is no working prototype. Every performance figure on this site is a design target until a bench test says otherwise. Three UK patent applications are planned.

What exists is the plan, written in full before any metal is cut: the hardware specification, the software specification, the machine-safety and site-safety assurance plans, the commercial strategy, the manufacturing economics and the operations plan. Phase 0, September 2026 to March 2027, ends at a gate with two technical criteria, and no bench rig or rover is built until both are met: a mortar pump sustaining more than 60 kg per minute targetROADMAP-EXECUTION section 6.0.1, item 6, and the Phase 0 gate, and a digital twin that places 10,000 bricksROADMAP-EXECUTION section 6.0.1, item 3, and the Phase 0 gate with zero timing violations.

The round

£300,000, planned for Months 6 to 12.

An SEIS/EIS round of £300,000 is planned for Months 6 to 12 of the company's life, March to September 2027: £250,000 under SEIS, the maximum a company may raise under the scheme, and £50,000 under EIS.

It funds the workshop and the bench rig from Month 6 and the parts for the first prototype from Month 10. HMRC advance assurance will be applied for in Phase 0, and no investor money is taken before it is in hand.

Use of funds

What the round buys.

Qualifying trade expenditure: SEIS money spent within three years of issue, EIS money within two. Six of its categories are published here; line amounts are shared with investors and not published.

  1. Workshop

An industrial unit with three-phase power: lease and fit-out, from Month 6.

  2. Bench rig

A fixed frame carrying a linear rail, a servo axis, the gripper assembly, the mortar pump and the sensors.

  3. Prototype parts

Chassis steel, aluminium extrusion, pneumatics and fasteners for the first Alpha rover, from Month 10.

  4. Patents

Attorney and filing fees for the UK and international patent applications.

  5. Software and simulation

Compute for the digital twin, AI subscriptions, self-hosted source control and telemetry servers.

  6. Legal and compliance

Company secretary, accounts, SEIS and EIS compliance and solicitor fees.

Non-dilutive routes

Two Innovate UK routes, run in parallel.

Neither route is dilutive. No more than two grant or contract applications are live at any one time, and both are prepared during Phase 0.

Innovate UK Contracts for Innovation
Challenge-led: a fully funded procurement of research and development, bid against the first relevant published brief.
Innovate UK Growth Catalyst
A grant that must name a committed private investor alongside it, so the application is filed once the round has its lead.

Roadmap

Six gates in 36 months.

Month 0 is September 2026. Each phase ends at a gate fixed in advance, together with what happens if it is missed. The first gate falls in March 2027; the form beneath it sends you the result on the day.

  1. Phase 0 Current

    Months 0 to 6 Sep 2026 to Mar 2027

Digital twin and mortar pump bench test.

    Gate

    • Pump above 60 kg per minute targetROADMAP-EXECUTION section 6, Phase 0 Go/No-Go Gate, Mortar Flow, sustained.
    • 10,000 bricksROADMAP-EXECUTION section 6, Phase 0 Go/No-Go Gate, Digital Twin simulated with zero timing violations.
  2. Phase 1
